Teachers Day

Nation celebrates the Teachers' Day tomorrow. I have been a teacher over 25 years at secondary and senior secondary standard. Never missed my class and never skipped of teaching. I pay significant time to make my students muse over the issues like- what education is , what the value of education is, why we were rules for so long, why there are so many uneducated and poor among us, what is the nature of this world, survival of the fittest, concept of justice, parity , freedom and democracy, how the smart use the naive, etc. , etc. I have always marked real attendance and it ensured healthy presence of the students in classroom. I never allowed copying in exam and never promoted a student who was not prepared. I never worked for an Award.
It has been my experience that (a) there are a number of parents who are not able to get their kids educated. They must interrogate a teacher at the primary level if he/she is not doing the duty and at the same time food to the kid must follow the lesson. (b)There are only a few teachers passionate to their duty. Accountability is limited to the result and it is too superficial. (c) Schools are run by incapable heads in most of the cases. (d) only 5 to 10 percent students are worth calling students. The rest seem to waste every thing in schools. (e) Governments appear to making efforts for education but the fact is- no govt has ever wished that the people be educated in the sense of the word.
I congratulate all the teachers who are passionate to their duty. The duty is so sublime that nothing else but the duty is the best reward.
WE MUST KEEP IN MIND ALL THE TIME THAT EDUCATION IS THE SHORT CUT TO SOLVE ALL THE PROBLEMS WE HAVE TODAY.

To Get Rid Of Ill-Education

We have to get rid of ill-education. Nation first need to be the norm guiding our thought and action. We are to weaken the labels that divide us. Humanity is a self sufficient label. Need to curb the leadership that is based upon such labels. We are to establish direct relationship between ability and achievement. This only will ensure all the stimuli needed to inculcate ability among the masses. Let the places of learning be more effective and splendid than the places of worship. If we are able to think logically, feel patriotically, act humanistically and expect rationally then the apprehensions will dilute. Again it all depends upon the use of power that is ascertained by the purity of intentions. I wish India not as a threat within or to the world but as a nation fostering peace and prosperity trans borders also. The day I choose to live and work for my India, apprehensions and divisions begin to disappear and sheer positivism begins to originate. Can we dare to confine all the marks of division? A leader stimulates us for that and we choose. Pave the way to fraternity by curbing all the forces that are fed on the divisions. Mind and beware - its not easy because it's very difficult to get rid of ill education and say no to it.

Political Reforms

May I expect? Series..............

2- Political Reforms (involving election reforms)

Why has the word politician become the most undesirable but most sought after?

We know the reason so let's work to erase 'the most undesirable' part.

First of all we are to ensure that no crude stuff who is only after power with all its luxuries may join the politicians' class. So lay norms. We need not only educated, able or experienced people. Rather we need people who are passionate, committed, honest, democratic, energetic, free from personal and family responsibilities, open frame of mind, humane or 'divine' in one word.
Let such people come forward. Train them.  Fix target and let them achieve these targets. Pay them.

Let the political parties form on the basis of alternative approach to the unanimous goals of nation building only. Power grabbing can not be the basis of party formulation. Let the parties be either national or regional only. We need to ensure that promises to the voters before going to election have to be kept or it will be sufficient basis of ousting them of power.

Make voting mandatory. Vote by mobile has to be made possible. Train the voters to vote by mobile and use the money saved from the existing way of election. Make it mandatory for every body to announce his/her candidature from the constituency at least 2-3 years prior to next election. At least 51% voters' support must be there to win.

Summarily- The reforms follow the wisdom, participation and unity of the voters.

Educational Reforms

May I expect? Series..............
1- Educational reforms:-
Where education transforms us into an able, well informed, rational, skilled, healthy, peace loving, disciplined, environment friendly and passionately committed to the nation citizens of India.
All the educational institutes, syllabus and teachers have to work for this mission in perfect collaboration. Let ability be the sole criterion for achievement.
So calculate the man power of today and tomorrow. Calculate the skill required to build India a leading country and allocate the work force to inculcate that skill. Let the schools-colleges be a factory producing ability and skill and let the industry be the places of acquiring that education the workers missed. The places of education and work have to be linked. Mind the demand supply law of economics. No education be useless and no worker be unproductive or idle. The country for example must know how many teachers, doctors, engineers, scientists, politicians, economists, lawyers, judges, workers, etc. etc. needed in next 5 years with what quality and how they will be prepared par excellence.
Stop the education that is too expensive, purposeless, substandard, superficial, useless, marks and exam oriented, dissociated and much more.
Our educational institutes stand no where in the world and the status of research and patents is miserable.
Education need to be free of cost and let the learner who is 15+ contribute to the nation building to meet the cost state may bear. Let the 15+ study for 6 hours and work for 4 hours while the 25+ do the reverse and the rest (50+)as may be decided by the experts.

Can We Dare And Afford?

Amid the speculations over Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharrif's accepting India's invitation to join NaMo's swearing ceremony, I wonder what makes politics so twisted!

It is said "Politics is all about acquiring and then holding power and power is never rational, just, proportionate, peace loving, pragmatic, humane or divine in one word."

The word 'we' in the title stands for both India and Pakistan. Both of us can continue to look in the past and choose not to come out of it. It may serve the vested interests of both the sides. Polarization of votes in India and so called Allah-Army-America nexus in Pakistan. It makes it possible for Pakistan to spend most of its resources on defense forces and to crush the cry of misery that follows showing fear from India. It makes it possible for the Army to enjoy both power and luxury without waging a real war against India. Fear is the most effective weapon to be-fool and exploit masses. Fear from God and India has been a double dose.

Otherwise-

1-Why don't we see the rulers striving for fearlessness among the subject? Fearlessness originates when people are rational, aware and enlightened. Education in the sense of the word makes it possible. Such education is not seen neither here nor there.

2- How can both Pakistan and India  stick to their claim on whole of  Kashmir? Pakistan may continue to test India's patience through promoting terrorism. The Muslim community in India may not have assessed how this makes their position in India vulnerable. When two cats quarrel, monkeys are not far behind. America and China serve the role of monkeys.

3- Why don't we the rulers of India and Pakistan dare and afford to come to an agreement that may suggest:-
The claim of each over the other side of Kashmir is suspended for 50 years. In this period both the countries will make it a point to develop the territory competing each other. This formula may also be applied between India and China for the border issue.

How long man will continue to fight for territory and labels? Has man ever waged a war for humanity, peace and development? Unless the wise among us unite and make it possible, the vicious power will go on crushing mankind and beware- there has never been a god that may intervene. Only we have to bring paradise down to earth.

                                        Voters’ Awareness

Active participation of informed voters in the system is the key to a successful democracy. India was a democratic country long ago. Democracy was blessed again after that much time in 1947 but people were made adaptive to monarchy in between. Resultantly democracy stimulates as well as forces us to be worthy of it.
Voters’ awareness is part of this worthiness. Let’s confess that awareness is seldom given from without. It is rather groomed from within. Still the awareness in environment percolates.
What awareness do we need? Let’s focus upon the context. It sounds relieving to see that we have been discussing this awareness for quite some time. The core of this discussion is the worthiness of the person to be elected.
So let’s define the worthiness of a representative.  Education will make us wise can not be taken for granted. Ability alone is not fruitful. It is passion for the betterment of the people of the constituency that must come above all in the person who wishes to be a representative. Passion leads to ability. Passion makes us honest. Let the passion be the guiding principal of the worthiness in a leader.
Next: The voters must be cognizant of the person/s wish to represent them well in advance. I recommend 5 years in advance. This will prove his/her worthiness in every manner. How can I vote for a person I know nothing or little about?
Again: a label labeled to a person is of no value. It involves voters’ awareness that we pay no attention to it.

It’s our duty to spread this awareness among the voters to ensure we elect the best among us as our representative.

Good Governace- another approach

Good Governance: Need of the Hour

The natural resources have never been inadequate for the consumers on this planet. But this is a pre-man story. Man brought greed with his advent on the earth. Greed began imbalance in nature and its resources. This has brought us to the present crisis of distribution of the natural as well as man made resources. It is Governance that makes this crisis intense or dilute.

Man is born dialectical as is the universe itself. Balance between the good and the bad in man is a utopia. Good Governance leads mankind to this ideal state despite the fact that the utopia is an illusion.

Governance involves aggregation of power. It may be needed but it is surely a double edged sword. The history of man kind proves the worst use of this aggregated power. It is greed, ego, ambition, dominance, hate, luxury, lust, etc. that have ruled over temperance, love, kindness, cooperation, humanity, need, etc.

Good governance is a notion, mechanism and enforcement where the good rules the bad in us. The challenge is:- Goodness seldom tends to unite. The way is:- Make the balance between the good and the bad within us, the chief concern of the education system. Ensure its inculcation in every individual.
Mind: balance is subject to both inculcation and enforcement.

Thus the gist of good governance lies in transforming each individual into his/her true self “divine”. Education is the instrument. Spirit for it is the force. Man’s skill and intelligence are the assurance to sure success.

Growing anguish among people following rising awareness of their rights has pushed the rulers everywhere to introduce good governance or to expose. Let the good rule over the bad or nobody can help mankind woo its demise.

Good Governance

Good Governance: Need of the Hour

Ours being dialectical propounded the notion of governance. Governance involves aggregation of power. Strengthened governments left the subject weak. But awareness percolates. Man can not be subjected to prolong subjugation. That’s why the history of governance witnesses the shift from absolutism to democracy. Democracy involves germination of mass empowerment. The empowerment leads the aggregated power to segregation. Segregation leads to exposing the governance itself. This exposure takes us to good governance. Thus good governance is an effect by force not by choice.

Today we find more and more people realizing more and more that it is the poor governance that has left them with most of the problems they find themselves trapped in. Spreading education, growing middle class, empowering social and electronic media and some leaders with Nirlipt Buddhi have contributed to good governance. This has left the rulers with no option but to render good governance particularly in a democratic set up.

The notion of good governance involves the good subjugating the bad at micro as well macro level. It envisages a society where most of the problems and challenges are resolved by the minds vested with rationale, humanity and patriotism. Education can transform the most ordinary mind into the sublime. Both the ruler and the ruled collectively march towards sublimity setting higher goals and shedding ignorance.

Good governance is sans time and place hence always is a need of the hour.

Slogan: - Let the good/ divine/ solution subjugate the bad/ devil/ problem.

Towards A Better India Part One

"India is great" that's what I have heard since my childhood. In the process of my growing up, the process of analysis of this greatness has also gone on. Luckily the study of History, Philosophy, Sociology, Education, Psychology, Literature, Economics and Geography helped me much to analyse this greatness like an educated person. I am still a novice though.
I need not go in history as the state of mind prevalent among us today radiates a composite picture of our being. Let's analyse this state of mind. The criterion of the analysis should be rationale. Putting it in a few words, I feel-"A positive stuff suffocated with negativity" can say more than the words.
We have to keep in mind the basic lessons life/nature has taught us. Some of them are-
1- Survival of the fittest.
2- A few rule the rest.
3- Power and wealth tend to aggregate in fewer hands.
4- God helps those who help themselves.
5- Man made laws of parity, freedom and justice do not match with those of the nature. Still we must strive for them.
6- We are dialectical in nature as the universe itself. Balance is best.
7- We live in a man dominated world that does not do justice to women.
8- Man takes man as a means.
9- Fear, hunger, greed, ambition, etc govern us.
10- Use of the common man in India by the elite has long been institutionalized. This can be slammed with "the worst example world over".  sorry.
11- Ignorance is mother of all the problems.
12- In past 10 thousand years, our culture and civilization have seldom improved our peace of mind and     deteriorated the environment for sure.
13- Number (population) has become a big challenge today.
14- Man made order (nature is always in order) is inculcated as well as enforced .
15- Paradise can be brought down the Earth by balancing the positive and the negative within us.There is       enough to satisfy our needs on this planet. Man himself is the biggest resource.
There are numerous other lessons also.
So the question is- "how to lead to a better India."
We are living in the Golden period of this Earth. Never before in the history of this nation has been a period when the possibility of rewarding ability was so direct as it is today. Goodness can be sold if you know how to sell it. The stuff within us is the best. We only need to clear its way to groom in the best manner.
How to clear the way?
We have to take up the Herculean Task of educating the mind within each one of us. We have to have a mind that inclines to be scientific, rational, humanistic and spiritual. Each one of us who has such a mind with "Nirlipt Buddhi" is the teacher. If this teacher within us does not educate such minds, who need this education, next to him/her; we lose the right to live in a better India.
I discuss the mechanism in part two.
